The Movie Avatar (2009) with a “Message”

Watching “Avatar”, I fell short of words to appreciate the maker of this movie. James Cameron once again doing the magic, the magic that has spell-bounded millions throughout the world. Every moment, every second justifies the hard work that had been put through in the last 10 years to make this master piece. What should be wowed about ” Is it the story, the special effects, the action, the drama “, if you question me I would love to answer “What not?”.. -Read More>

Return to Innocence

Return to Innocence

Story Line:
Freshly graduated from college with a promising future, 22 year-old Christopher McCandless instead walked out of his privileged life and into the wild in search of adventure. What happened to him on the way transformed this young wanderer into an enduring symbol for countless people. Was Christopher McCandless a heroic adventurer or a naïve idealist, a rebellious 1990s Thoreau or another lost American son, a fearless risk-taker or a tragic figure who wrestled with the precarious balance between man and nature? McCandless’ quest took him from the wheat fields of South Dakota to a renegade trip down the Colorado River to the non-conformists’ refuge of Slab City, California, and beyond. Along the way, he encountered a series of colorful characters at the very edges of American society who shaped his understanding of life and whose lives he, in turn, changed. In the end, he tested himself by heading alone into the wilds of the great North, where everything he had seen and learned and felt came to a head in ways he never could have expected.

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods;
There is a rapture on the lonely shore;
There is a society,where none intrudes,
By the deep sea,and the music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more….

— Lord Byron

I should start off with the man behind this master peice Sean Penn. Those of you who closely follow Hollywood must be familiar with the name.  Sean Penn’s Into the wild is a adaptation of the nonfiction bestseller by Jon Krakauer, and believe me I have hardly watched a adapted movie before this one that can do justice with the book. This movie had been nominated for Academy and the Grammy Award and won a golden globe for the best original sound track sung by Eddie Vedder and that is one hell of a track. Most of you who used to listen to Pearl Jam must be excited to read the name of Eddie Vedder, Sean and Eddie both are close friend, and along with Micheal Brook boy ‘o boy what a combination. When Sean was asked by a Times journalist that ” What was it about what McCandless did that got to you?” and he replied

McCandless quotes somebody else in the movie: “If just once you put yourself in the most ancient of circumstances …” This is where nature comes into it–and I think that Eddie and I share this feeling–that every sober-minded person of any belief would probably agree that the biggest issue is quality of life. You’ve gotta feel your own life to have a quality of life, and our own inauthenticity, our corruptions, get in the way of that. The wilderness is relentlessly authentic.

I watched this movie at the start of year 2008, and still I believe I have never experienced such a state of mind ever after watching any thing else.  The story, the still photography, the locations, the camerawork, screen play, actors, the momentum, the philosophy everything is so perfect about this movie that I can’t really put it into words… Once in a life you will realize that materialism has put our freedom in chains, and each passing day the suffocation inside is growing..  My favourite dialogues from the Movie

..” If you want something in life , Reach out and grab it “…

…” I read somewhere how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong, but to feel strong, To measure yourself at least once“…
